1984 & Animal Farm Book Set | Great Star Media

Challenge

Nearly a decade ago I designed a book cover for 1984 for a graphic design class. Sometime around then I uploaded it a couple of places online. In early 2019 a chinese publishing company reached out to me and said they saw my book cover and asked if they could buy it and if I could do a companion Animal Farm Design for a print run in Chinese and English to be distributed in China.

Solution

Here is the result of that work, with one of the alternate color schemes. With both pieces I wanted to portray a sense of looming authority and foreboding in a soviet constructivist inspired style.
